Translating the Doughnut into a Danish context

Webinar: Practitioners in law, economics and social sciences explore how to integrate Doughnut Economics in Denmark

During 2021, the Danish Trade Union “Djøf” and the green grassroots network of union members “DjøfereForFuture” hosted 3 dialogue sessions, introducing union members to the concept of Doughnut Economics and sparking reflection on how to integrate the core ideas of Doughnut Economics in their practice.

This recording 'Doughnut Economics in Practice' shows an exciting conversation between Economist Kate Raworth; Eveline Jonkhoff, Strategic Advisor on Circular Economy to the City of Amsterdam; and Rasmus Steenberger, representing DjøfereForFuture. In this session, we are introduced to the concept of Doughnut Economics and explore how it has been applied in practice in the City of Amsterdam. The session ends with reflections on how the principles of Doughnut Economics can be applied in a Danish context, from the national scale through to municipalities and cities.

Djøf is a Danish trade union, representing members who study or work within the areas of law, economics, strategy, management, administration, politics, business, research, communication and more. Spanning key areas of the Danish economy, Djøf and its more than 100,000 members are important actors in bringing about a green, just transition in Denmark. DjøfereForFuture is an informal, green grassroots network of union members, focused on generating insights and sparking debate among Djøf members on their role in achieving a sustainable future.
